LAKE STREET

Originally constructed in the mid-1800s as a horse barn, this structure has lived many lives before becoming the home it is today. Its story includes a remarkable journey across Spring Lake—transported on sleds pulled by horses over the frozen water at the end of the 19th century. Over time, various additions were built, each layer reflecting a different era of adaptation and use.

Our team was brought in to reimagine the interior while preserving the building’s unique sense of history. The remodel included a full interior transformation with updated finishes, custom millwork, and thoughtful spatial reconfiguration to enhance flow and natural light. Every detail was chosen to complement the barn’s original form while creating a comfortable, modern living environment.

The result is a home that celebrates its origins without feeling bound by them—where exposed structure, warm materials, and refined craftsmanship come together to tell a story more than a century in the making.
